Valencia Early

Valencia: Malagan – Style lustrewares

Produced between c.1300 and 1350.

This is perhaps the earliest phase of production at Valencia, with decorative patterns similar to those used on Malagan lustrewares.

Decoration includes the use of small and detailed motifs: scrolls, chevrons, trees of life, foliage and clusters of three dots.

The range of forms produced is mainly small bowls, plates, serving dishes and jugs.
