Malaga Early
Malaga: Early Lustreware
Produced during the late 13th and 14th centuries.
Characterised by Islamic decoration, with minute infilling motifs (scrolls, dots), and showing Fatimid influence. Typical elements are arabesques, trees of life, stars, Kufic inscriptions, sebkas, sgraffito.
The range of forms includes jugs and large bowls, sometimes with lids, jars, vases, lamps and goblets.
